As I watched Obama’s acceptance speech with my wifey on Tuesday night, I was impressed with the honesty and love exchanged between Obama and his wife Michelle with a simple public “fist pound”.  Although there many jokes circulating  about it, I find it refreshing to see that sort of honest exchange between the future first lady and President of the United States.

Another interesting thing I noticed during his speech, was that Obama started his speech with the traditional “tucked finger” gesture. But midway he was finger wagging all over the place. I think it says alot about his level of comfort and honesty that he can get up there and just be himself. BTW, this is  the “Bush finger point“.

In honor of The Cans Festival , the stencil art festival/exhibit at Leake St., London, on 3-5 May 2008. I have posted some video and links of the event for everyone. Over 28,000 people showed up at the abandoned tunnel for the festival. If you are at all interested in Street Art, this is the place you will find some of the most bad ass stencil and street artists, including the founder of the festival Bansky.

Along with Bansky, other stencilists including Blek Le Rat, Logan Hicks, Pure Evil , Bsas Stencil, Run Don’t Walk, James Dodd (dlux), Tom Civil (civilian), Vexta, Prism, Daniel Melim, Altocontraste, Bandit, Roadsworth, 3D Del Naja, Artiste-Ouvrier. Blek, Sten, Sadhu, C215, Lucamaleonte, Lex, Orticancvoodles, Kaagman, Dolk, Pobel, M-City, Vhils, Btoy, Coolture, Schhh, Borbo, Sam3, Faile, Eine, John Grider, Logan Hicks, Pure Evil, Dot masters and Dan, Eelus.

The wonderful thing about this festival, is that it takes back abandoned spaces and makes them into something beautiful , colorful, alive and interesting. I am already making plans for next years. What are your thoughts on street art?

Several weeks ago I went to a teaching by Lama Chagdud Khadro in Miami. The teaching was called ” A Talk on the Bardos and Death”. Unfortunately, You Tube only allows for 10 minutes videos, so I’ve had to break it down in like 10 videos. Either way, they are very, very good. The beautiful thing about the Dharma, is its view on death. Rather than shy away from it, they encourage us to embrace it and prepare for it. Enjoy!

Below are several videos from the teaching.

As my first post on my personal blog, I am coming out of the closet.

No, not that closet, the Social Media Geek closet.
Let me explain! I went to the Radiohead concert this past Monday 5/5/2008. Rather than enjoy my favorite band perform live, I was thinking about where I was going to post the videos, pix and audio recordings of the concert that night. Rather than clap at the end of songs, I was fiddling with my phone sending live video feeds to Ustream and Twittering about how great the concert was. And at that moment it hit me! WTF is going on here? There I was at RADIOHEAD, and all I could think about was posting to YouTube? What are the implications here? Is this just the beginning of an onslaught of Social Media induced hypnosis? Will I ever regain my free will? Wee shall see?
